My Health Coach certification came from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition* where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and multiple dietary theories, including Ayurveda, gluten-free, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, vegan and vegetarian, to name a few. Additionally, I have earned the credential of Certified International Health Coach by the IAHC. Prior to my health coach training, I graduated "cum laude" from the University of Nevada - Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology, and trained in multiple autism intervention techniques, such as the Parent and Child Enrichment model, Relationship Development Intervention, Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration, Quantum Reflex Integration, and Applied Behavioral Analysis. This extensive training and work as a professional in the field of autism intervention, enabled me to gain a deep awareness and understanding of the gut-brain connection, as well as the detrimental effects of both poor gut health and a chronically overstressed nervous system. This knowledge, in conjunction with managing and recovering from my own personal health issues, led me to the path of health coaching. As a holistic health coach, I believe that gut health, stress management, as well as hormonal health, are integral parts of attaining optimal health. For this reason, I have gained further instruction and certification in all three of these areas. This education has been an invaluable resource that has helped me guide my clients effectively to better health and happiness.
In 2017, I became a certified yoga instructor, and in 2018 I went on to become an RYT-500. I teach vinyasa flow classes, Yin yoga, and Yoga Nidra, and specialize in Gentle Yoga, which is a slower, more mindful practice that focuses on releasing stress and tension in the body. I began teaching Pilates reformer classes in 2022, and am also a certified level 2 Reiki practitioner. This healing technique energetically activates the natural healing processes of the body. Working in these fields enriches my health coaching, as I'm able to incorporate effective strategies for stress management into my coaching programs, helping my clients restore their physical and emotional well-being.
It is my hope that with my unique background and training, I will guide, educate, and support women and mothers on their paths to regain their optimal levels of health, so that they can in turn support, nourish, and nurture their loved ones.
